Pharmaceutical Account Manager - West (Louisiana/Arkansas)

Position Summary:
Reporting to a Regional Sales Director, the Account Manager is responsible for promoting and facilitating the adoption and appropriate use of HETLIOZ, the first treatment approved by the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder (Non-24), a serious chronic circadian rhythm disorder that affects up to 70 percent of people who are totally blind. The Account Manager, working seamlessly with case management, plays a critical role in Vanda's innovative patient-focused sales model that personalizes every engagement with Healthcare Professionals. The Account Manager has overall account responsibility for the management of the sales cycle working together with other cross-functional team members, physicians and office staff.

BASIC QUALIFICATION

  • BS/BA degree required, MA or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years successful biotech/pharmaceutical sales experience

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Account management, institutional sales or sales management experience
  • Specialty pharmacy and reimbursement experience
  • Orphan drug experience
  • Proactive, adaptable and excels in innovative and dynamic work environments
  • Demonstration of high-impact communication, high emotional IQ and influence skills
  • Proven ability to build trusting relationships
  • Proven ability to effectively work independently and on highly interdependent teams
  • Proven track record for delivering customer value and sales results
  • Strong clinical and scientific knowledge and acumen
  • Superior organization skills, prioritization skills and demonstration of sound judgment
  • Dedicated excellence in patient care
  • Travel within assigned territory to provide customer-focused services and effectively support business goals; some overnight travel will be required
  • Driver's license must be in good standing
